Good Jeans

We all own at least one pair of denim jeans; they’re casual, comfortable and can work for any outfit. It makes sense that there are so many different styles! Skinny, ripped, boot-cut, high-waisted, and many more in between. Finding the most comfortable fit can be its own task, but decoding the different styles is not as crazy as it may seem.

Skinny
Skinny jeans have rightfully taken over as the top style of choice. Each pair has a tight fit that flatters every curve. Try pairing an oversized sweater or tee shirt with the typical “painted-on” look skinny jeans to balance the top and bottom half of the outfit. Plus, the outfit will be more comfortable if you don’t like clothes that are too form-fitting.

Flare
As the name suggests, flare jeans get wider from the knee down to the ankle. They allow you to wear boots while still showing off the bottom of the jean. This style has been around for decades; you might remember them from the seventies as bell bottoms. Speaking of the seventies, denim-on-denim was one of the hottest casual trends, and it is slowly making a comeback. If you want to try this recurring look, wear a pair of flares with a denim jacket, a brightly patterned top and your favorite boots to complete the look of modern vintage chic.

Mom Jeans
Despite the name, these jeans are more than just your mom’s denim; they combine the comfort of boyfriend jeans with the aesthetic of high-waisted jeans. Tuck a large flannel shirt into the waist, but don’t tuck it too tight. It will best complement the jeans if the shirt is more loose. Wear with booties or a pair of tennis shoes to keep the look casual. On warmer days, pair a tight-fitting tank top or bodysuit and a pair of strappy sandals for a contrast to the baggy silhouette.

Jeans are the easiest way to pull together an awesome casual outfit because they match mostly every piece of clothing. There are dozens of combinations of fits, designs, and washes of jeans, so everyone can find the right pair. Of course, the most important aspect of any outfit is to feel comfortable and confident in what you wear, no matter the style. Happy shopping!
